Roofer

A roofer is a professional of the building which poses on the roofs of a building an impermeable coating which forms the Toiture. He works of various materials such as: the Thatch, wood shingles, the Tile S, the Zinc, the Slate, the Bitumen,… Its work also consists of the repair and the insulation of the roofs, of which the Pare-vapeur, membranes of brought back Toiture S, membranes of proofing, as well as the installation of not welded and not fastened sheet.

The roofer of inclined roofs

This type of roofer carries out all the operations relating to the installation, the maintenance or the repair of the coatings, more particularly in tiles or Ardoise S of Toiture S inclined and of frontages. Before setting up the cover itself, it carries out the insulation of the roof, sets up the under-roof and the Lattis (together of the slats which support the tiles) by taking account of the possibility of installing windows of roof, solar panels and ventilation systems, various antennas. Tasks relating to the function

  • Interpretation of the plans;

  • Installation of the under-roof, materials of insulation, the sheets of air tightness and the vapor barrier;

  • Installation decorative tiles;

  • Repairs and renovates the roofs;
  • Assembles and dismounts the scaffolding and the systems of scales;
  • Mounts and dismounts the safety equipments.

General terms of exercise of the profession

This profession is exerted in the open air, on building sites or of restoration. The activity is generally organized in teams. The exercise of this trade implies to comply with the safety regulations scrupulously and to maintain good relationships with the other professionals of construction.
