Roof in hull
It is during the 16th century that the technique of manufacture of the roofs in Carène of reversed boat takes its rise in France. It is thus very widespread in Lozere, in the area of Mende.
These frames “with the Philibert Delorme”, by the name of their originator, take as a starting point the technique of construction of the hulls of ship. That makes it possible to benefit from the entirety of the roofs for the storage of the food products, in particular for fodder during the construction of barns.
