Ronan Pinc

Ronan PINC, musician and Violonist Breton autodidact, sails in various musical universes - in particular that of the traditional Musique - but also in the Jazz.

History

Beginnings

Ronan Pinc was born March 3rd 1965 with Saint-Brieuc. Very small, its family bathes it in the Breton traditional music. Thus one finds it, as of the 4 years age, sounding - according to the devoted expression - bombards in the bagad Saint-Quay-Portrieux, bagad created by his/her parents, Christiane and Michel Pinc, in 1959. It accompanies also, always with bombards, his Michel father in the festoù-noz, like, a little later, the bell ringer of bagpipe Gilles Lehart.

The discovery of the violin

It is at 16 years that he discovers the violonist Stephan Grappelli, and it is a shock and a turning in its musical life. Falling literally " amoureux" single Violin of this last, it gives up completely bombards it, and devotes its days has to rub with greed the violin of family, inherited her great-grandfather Jaroslav Pinc (the Pinc family is originating, of with dimensions governor, České Budějovice in Czech Republic). It is besides on this violin that he plays always today.

First groups

Although impassioned by the music of Grappelli, it is nevertheless in the Breton traditional music which it makes its first weapons on scene with the violin since 1981, in particular within the group Kenan, in which are present his/her father Michel at the guitar, Bernard Kerboeuf with the Vielle, and Gilles Mevel with the Flute. It does not have whereas a few months of violonistic practice to its credit… The group will obtain several rewards thereafter.

One then finds it in various formations, of which Cornandière, of famous memory for all impassioned festoù-noz, then O' Bretnak Duet, with Yann Drezet with the guitar and the violin, duet having also marked the spirits to him.

Its style

Progressively of these musical experiments, Ronan Pinc sets up and develop a style of quite particular violin which clean, is made to him of one mix its traditional roots, of " swing " and of a taste pronounced for the Improvisation, resulting from its passion for Grappelli.

That gives him a single sound and one phrased in its kind in the Breton music, and which will influence many Breton violonists thereafter.

The period Square Penguin

It is thanks to this approach of the violin that it is noticed by the group Carré Penguin, already celebrates at the time, and that it integrates in September 1988 thus, the turning group already extremely well at this moment.

It is the beginning of a professional path filled well.
