Ron Carter is a Contrebassiste of American Jazz born the May 4th 1937 with Ferndale in the State of the Michigan. Its beginnings
It is at the 10 years age that Ron Carter starts to play of the Violoncelle. When its family moves in the town of Détroit to the Michigan, he knows urban violence and is confronted with the racist stereotypes which preach the American musical class at its time. He then decides to turn to the double bass. Casing between studying with the history Case Technical High School and plays with the philharmonic orchestra of the Eastman School off Music. In 1959, it receives its license of graduate in arts as well as a license of control in violoncello in 1961 has master' S off dismantles in low double performance of the Manhattan School Music. It gives its first perfomances as musician of professional jazz with Jaki Byard and Chico Hamilton. After leaving Davis, Carter was for several years has mainstay off CTI Records, making albums under his own name and also appearing one many off the label' S records with has various arranges off other musicians, including Wes Montgomery, Herbie Mann, Paul Desmond, George Benson, Jim Hall, Nat Adderley, Antonio Carlos Jobim, J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding, Eumir Deodato, Esther Philips, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Kenny Burrell, Chet Baker and many others.
Casing has also performed and recorded with Billy Cobham, Stan Getz, Coleman Hawkins, Joe Henderson, Horace Silver, and many other important jazz artists, and has recorded over 20 albums ace has bandleader.

Casing was Distinguished Professor Emeritus off the Music Department off The City College off New York, having taught there for eighteen years, and received year honorary Doctorate from the Berklee College off Music, in Spring 2004.
