Romulien

The Romuliens are, in the universe of fiction of Star Trek , a species Extraterrestre originating in the planet Romulus. They form, with the Rémiens - originating in planet Remus twins - and some other species distributed on a dozen worlds, the Stellar Empire Romulien.

Physiology

Romuliens are humanoïdes physically identical to their cousins (and in addition ancestors) Vulcains, with this close the majority of them raise wrinkles prohéminentes on the face, a feature which evolved/moved after their departure of the planet Vulcan. Their hair black or very dark, stiff and is glossed. Their ears are slightly less less pointed than those of Vulcains.

The men measure between one meter seventy-five and one meter ninety, for a weight located between 65 and 115 kg. Romuliens being refused to control the mental disciplines and the environmental conditions being poorer on Romulus, their physical capacities (in comparison with their ancestors) were seen increased. They are two to three times the stronger than the Humains. The women are smaller and less doors but as strong as a human means.

History

Originating in the Quadrant Beta, Romuliens are among the most frightening enemies of the Fédération of plain planets. Formerly Vulcains, they started from their original planet shortly after that the dissident Task disavowed the lesson of Surak, the large Vulcan philosopher. Travelling in the lasting space of the years, exiled arrived finally in the Romulien system, which they colonized. Once installed on the Romulus planet, exiled, which was named for the Romuliens occasion, seized second livable planet of their system, Remus. Thus continuing, they based a stellar empire extending on a dozen from worlds. Although that is not clear, it appears that they used mainly Remus like " planet-ressource" , reducing in slavery the indigenous population which evolved/moved physically until becoming the apparent Rémiens in Star Trek: Nemesis.

Years 2150, Romuliens come into contact with the Human ones. One did not have a long time so that obvious tensions degenerate into open war, marking the beginning of the Land-Romulien conflict. This short but particularly intense war was held only in space, without any contact between the people, even visual.

No Human or Vulcan lives of Romulien before 2266, a long time after the end of the war, when a Bird of prey penetrated the neutral Zone to test defenses of the Federation. The vessel was destroyed by the '' Entreprise NX-01 '' and it was the beginning of a “cold war” between the two power.

The tensions culminated into 2311 at the time of the incident of Tomed, when thousands of lives on the side of the Federation were lost against Romuliens. This incident led to the Traité of Algeron which prohibits the Federation from developing the shield occulter and officialized the neutral Zone between the two powers.

Culture

Like Vulcains, from which they result, Romuliens overcame their thirst for violence, but remained opportunist, impassioned, manipulators and traitors, making and breaking the consensuses for the simple pleasure of fighting.

Names romuliens

If Romuliens are in general equipped with three first names and two names, in the everyday life one simply calls them by their first first name. On the other hand, in all the official documents, one uses of the first two first names and the first of the names in order to avoid any possible confusion between homonyms.

The third first name is held secret and only the family members close know it.

The first name is what one qualifies on Earth of “family name”, while the second is the name of the House to which the person belongs. In all the Empire only one individual is called by its first name; it is about the Praetor, supreme leader of the government.
