For the Romain S, the public place where the citizens met to haggle over, to treat political matters or economic. The first forum is that of Rome, the Forum romanum, dating from the time of the Fondation of Rome.
At the origin the word “forum” wanted to say “the place outwards” because the place where that of Rome was built was only one vast marsh.
During the territorial expansion of Rome, colony S were created with the image of the metropolis, with the same institutions and same town planning. Each one thus had its forum .
These forum (the word is invariable) were designed like architectural complexes, with always a temple (or several), art galleries, much store, school (sometimes) and sometimes library.
