Origin

It belongs to the branch Grise of the steppes. It comes from the province of Emilie-Romagna. Its herd book goes back to 1969. It is a race diffused in its area and in Venezia. After significant drops in the Seventies and Eighties, the manpower of 44.000 animals was stabilized around 7200 cows all registered on the register and 320 bulls including 70 available in artificial insemination. The race is high pure to almost 100%.
La race was exported in the United States. It received there the contribution of zebus which gave good performances.

Morphology

It wears a white dress to gray. That of the male is darker. The boor is gray slate. The cow carries the horns in quadrant, the bull in half the moon.
C' is a race of big size. The cow measures 135 cm with the garrot for 800 kg, and the bull 145 cm for 1150 kg. It takes a muscular form and a trunk strokes. The musculature of the male made parraitre its short legs.

Aptitudes

It is a race classified bouchère after a past of draft animal. It gives a tasty and thin meat. The dairy production is sufficient for the growth of calf. It grows quickly and its morphology of carcass is very appréciée.
Elle is rustic, being able to spend almost all the year in the open air. The reproducers are rather early.
Elle watch of good capacities of adaptation in climate hot and dry, hot and wet or mountainous.
