Roland Penrose
Sir Roland Penrose , born the October 14th 1900 and deceased the April 23rd 1984, is a painter, Photographe and Poète, which inaugurates and organizes the Surréalisme in England. It remains with Paris of 1922 with 1935 and plays with the Architecture which it studies, and the photography, which it affectionate. It shares all the activities of the surrealist group until in 1947.
He was the husband of the poetess Valentine Penrose and the photographer Lee Miller.
He is also known for his friendship with Pablo Picasso, of which he will write a biography of reference, Pablo Picasso. His Life and Work (1958), translated into French under the title Picasso in 1962 (revised in 1971).
