Rokia Traoré , born on January 24th, 1974 with the Mali, is a Chanteuse, Auteur-compositeur-interprète, and Guitariste Mali enne.

Rokia Traoré is resulting from the ethnicity Bambara. She is characterized by her artistic style mixing tradition Malian (music Griot) and Western modernism. As his/her father was diplomat, she travelled much in her youth: Algeria, Saudi Arabia, France and Belgium. It is surrounded by a team trained at the school of the tradition. Its musicians use especially the traditional instruments: Balaphon, goni, Karignan, Guitar, Djembé, Yabara, but its voice remains free to move away from the established esthetic guns. Rokia Traoré adapts its music to its time and its concerns without a priori , nor external pressure.
