Roissard

Roissard is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps. Its inhabitants is called Roissardons.

Geography

Agricultural village with residential vocation, on the southernmost slope of the collar of Fau. Roissard keeps a very anchored agricultural tradition still, with its furnaces, détrés and house country-women.

It is also the cradle of typical cheeses of Trièves, with the cheese dairy of the Mount Switches: The “Brion” with the goat's milk, “Three” realized Worse with 3 milks (goat, cow and ewe) and of course “Trièves” with the cow's milk.

The Castle of Bardonenche dating from the end from 17th is aujoud' today arranged in apartments. The road is prolonged in direction of the Suspended bridge of Brion, rebuilt in 1951, on the throat of Ebron: 126 m in height, 100 m length.
