Rogue Entertainment
Rogue Entertainment was in the Années 1990 a company of development of video games based with Dallas. The majority of the employees were engaged by Nerv Software after the closing of Rogue in 2001 after Valve Software withdrew the development of Counter-Strike to him: Condition Zero.
Presentation
The history of Rogue Entertainment is closely related to that of Id Software: the buildings of Rogue Entertainment were located in the same building as those of id, and all the plays of Rogue are based on engines created by id, two their plays, Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution Off Eternity and Quake II: Ground Zero being even of simple extensions to the plays of the series Quake of id Software.Founded in December 1994, the company, then made up of 7 members, develops a FPS/RPG based on the engine of Doom, Strife: Quest for the Sigil, which leaves finally in 1996.
The company turns then to the development of extensions for the plays of the series Quake, and when American McGee seeks a development team for her Alice, based on the engine of Quake III Arena, it calls upon the members of Rogue, that it had met at the time of the development of Strife whereas itself worked at id Software. During the development, the team passes from 9 to 30 people and changes offices.
