Roger Trinquier

Senior officer parachutist, Roger Trinquier took part in the Guerre of Indo-China, the Crise of Suez and the Guerre of Algeria. Ordering one of the three regiments of the the 10th Division Parachutist of Jacques Massu, it took part in the Bataille of Algiers of 1957. Commander of the legion of honor, holder of 14 quotations whose 10 with the order of the army, colonel Trinquier is the author of several works

Author of " The War moderne" (1961), it is one of the theorists of the subversive Guerre and will be abundantly quoted in the schools of war, in particular with the Military academy of Americas, located at the Panama like with Fort Benning in Georgia (the USA).

Course

Roger Trinquier was born with the Balsam in the Hautes-Alpes on March 20th, 1908, in a family of peasants. He makes his studies at the elementary school of his native village where he obtains his certificate of studies in 1920. In 1925, it enters to the teacher training school of Aix to Provence. For its military service, it is received in 1928 high-officer of reserve (EOR). At the exit of the EOR, it takes the command of a section of Senegalese riflemen with Fréjus in the Var.

At the end of his service, Roger Trinquier engages in the army and intêgre the school of the officers of active of Saint-Maixent from where it leaves second lieutenant in 1933. Affected a time in Toulon with the 4th R.T.S., it embarks on May 11th, 1934 bound for the Indo-China where it joined Kylua, with the Tonkin, in the vicinity immediate of Langson. It takes then the command of the station of Chi My, at the border of China. It takes share with the Second world war then with the Uerre of Indo-China.

After the defeat of Diên Biên Phu, it returns to France in January 1955. Lieutenant-colonel, it is affected in Paris with the staff of the Général Gilles, ordering the airborne troops.

In August 1956, it joined Algeria at the Airborne Base of AFN, then is the assistant of the general Jacques Massu, ordering 10th Divison parachutist (10th D.P.), for the battle of Algiers. It is at the origin of the creation of the “urban safety device” (D.P.U.).

After a short stay in metropolis with the head of the school of the airborne troops, it takes, in March 1958, the command of the 3rd R.P.C. on the Tunisian border.

May 13rd, 1958, member of the Committee of public hello of Algiers, it resigns on June 11th, 1958 and takes again of it the combat with the head of his regiment, in the south and in Kabylie where it captures the commander Azzedine. In first half of the year of 1959, it takes share with the operations of the Plan Shawl in Oranie, in the Oranais and the Ouarsenis. In July 1959, it takes the command of the sector of El Milia in the Constantinois with its chief of staff the Capitaine Dabezies.

In July 1960, Roger Trinquier is recalled in metropolis. He is affected in December 1960 with the staff of the general ordering the group of subdivisions in Nice.

He dies in January 11th, 1985 in an accidental way with Vence.
