Roger Portal
Roger Portal is a Historien French, professor with the Faculty of Arts and social sciences of Paris and director of the Institut of Slavic studies. He exerted an important influence on the history of the Russia and the the USSR in France.
From the Years 1950, it gives a course to the Sorbonne on the Russian Révolution and the history of the agrarian systems in Russia and the USSR. To the beginning of the Years 1960, it sends in Soviet Union a certain number of its students: Rene Girault, François-Xavier Rascal, followed little by Marc Ferro, Alain Besancon, Helene Carrère d' Encausse and Jean-Louis Van Regemorter. It also directed the thesis of doctorate of Moshe Lewin.
