Roger Lorin

Roger Lorin is a painter, sculptor born in 1931 with Neuville-the-Ladies, in this area with the multiple ponds of Dombes, where as of childhood Roger Lorin impreigne of images of countryside, water, wood, farms, churches.

After the Teacher training school, Beautiful arts and the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of technical education, it obtains aggregation in visual arts. Of return of Algeria where it carried out its military service during the war, it is named professor with Voiron. At this point in time it acquires the priory of Chirens and engages all its energy and its faith to restore it with the assistance of its pupils.

Roger Lorin continues in parallel an international career and exposes in particular to Paris, Barcelona and in the United States. Director of the cultural international center in Paris, it obtains the recognition of his pars and the public.

But, the disease comes to apply a brutal brake at its rise. An attack leaves it paralyzed right-sided. However, with the will which lives it continues its work and builds, with the lower part of the Romance spans of the Prieuré of Chirens, this museum of creative imagination where it invites the artists to open a dialog with the public at the time of the concerts of chamber music of the Festival of the Priory of Chirens as well as exposures. It was its vocation until this summer 1991 when it disappeared.
