Roger Lemerre

Roger Lemerre , born the June 18th 1941 with Bricquebec (Handle) is old a Football or French become trainer, having occupied the station of center back.

Biography

He played in professional club of 1961 to 1975 with Sedan (1961-1969), with the Football Club of Nantes (1969-1971), with Nancy (1971-1973) and with the Racing Club of Lens (1973-1975). He counted 6 selections in team of France of 1968 to 1971, among which a humiliation inflicted by the England (5-0).

In 1975, he becomes trainer of the Red Star of Saint-Ouen (1975-1978), then returns with the RC Lens during one season, passes two from there to the Paris FC. In 1983-1984, he is trainer with the club of the sporting Espérance of Tunis. On its return in France, it involves again the Red Star.

Lemerre does not remain a long time without team since the Tunisian federation (FTF) chooses it to be the selector of the national team. Fleeing the French journalists (he married in October 2003 without the press not knowing it), he leads the Tunisia to the victory during the Coupe of Africa of the nations in 2004 and to the qualification for the Football world cup of 2006. It is in contract with the Tunisian federation until 2006.
