Roger Durling
Roger Durling is a fictitious character of the novels of Tom Clancy, present in the sum of all the fears and in Debt of honor .
He is the vice-president of the president Robert Fowler. At the time of the crisis between the United States and the USSR, caused by the nuclear attack of Denver, president Fowler, become insane, is relieved by the assistant editor of the CIA, Jack Ryan. Ryan then requires of Roger Durling to take his place (see the sum of all the fears ).
As a new president, it names Jack Ryan at the station of advising with the national security. It must face the war between Japan and the United States. However, its mandate is stopped by its death, caused by a suicide bombing. A Boeing 747, controlled by Japanese who lost his brother and his only son in the war, is crushed on Capitole and kills the president, as well as many VIP.
