Pierre-Roger Ducos (1747 with Dax (Moors) - 1816), French politician.

Under the Revolution

Studying in right to Toulouse, it contributes to the drafting of the registers of grievances of the town of Dax, city close to its native village. He is elected prosecutor of the Commune of Dax and Justice of the Peace. Elected with the Convention by the department of the Moors, he votes the death of Louis XVI (January 20th 1793), he achieves in 1793 and 1794 several missions important in the areas of North devastated by the war.

Under the Directory

Re-elected with the the Council of Old the in 1795 and 1798, this last election is cancelled at the time of the coup d'etat of the 30 Prairial year VII (June 18th 1799), it is named Directeur, with the support of Paul Barras, but he becomes the friend of Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyes and takes part with him in the Coup d'etat of the 18 brumaire year VIII (November 9th 1799).

Under the Consulate

Also it is appointed provisional consul (with Napoleon Bonaparte and Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyes. When the provisional consulate is replaced by the three consuls définifs (Napoleon Bonaparte, Jean-Jacques-Governed of Cambacérès and Charles-François Lebrun), Roger Ducos is named with the Sénat and becomes the vice-president about it.

Under the First Empire

In 1808, it is made count d' Empire. Nevertheless, he votes in 1814 the deposition of Napoleon i. Exiled in 1816 like regicide, it leaves for Germany and dies in an car accident, close to Ulm the March 16th 1816. He is the brother of Nicolas Ducos, general and baron d' Empire.

In 1991, filled with enthusiasm by some fortuitous discoveries in the church of Narrosse (Moors), the Bayse abbot, priest of the parish, obtain the authorization to in parallel engage of the excavations to other work.
