Roger Calves
Roger Calves is a philatelic expert and merchant of French stamps, specialized in the evaluation of the collections.
He also authenticates varieties of postage stamp (errors of colors, nonprinted mention, etc) or uses on mail such as the collector wants to make sure that it is not the object of a forger. Its expertise is famous so much so that the merchants of French stamps are accustomed to announcing “Signé Calves” in their publicities when they propose with the sale varieties authenticated by Calves using his claw of expertise.
It is installed in the Rue Drouot, one of the principal places of the philatelic trade Paris IEN.
Since the June 20th 1965, it occupies the armchair n°27 of the Académie of philately. He was president of the French Chambre of the traders and experts in philately in 1992.
