Roger Brooke Taney

Roger Brooke Taney is born with Calvert county in the Maryland the March 17th 1777.

After having worked like lawyer, it is promoted judge as a chief of his native State in 1827. Four years later, he becomes judge as a chief of the Supreme court of the United States and in 1833, he is useful as a Secrétaire of the treasure in the cabinet of the president Andrew Jackson and plays a leading role in the fight against the second bank of the the United States. In 1836, president Jackson appoints it chief of justice following the death of John Marshall. Taney will acquerra a notoriety for its support with the laws on the rendering of the fugitive slaves in the free States, in spite of its anti-slavery positions.

He dies in Washington, the October 12th 1864.
