Roger Belbéoch

Roger Belbéoch, born in 1920 with Saint-Maurice (then in the the Seine, today in the the Valley-of-Marne) is militant communist and resistant French; he was mayor-assistant of Joinville-le-Pont.

A Resistant Communist of the first hour

Employed at the post office, Roger Belbéoch vainly tries to pass in England as of the armistice of June 1940, then joined the Résistance.

Albert Ouzoulias, national military police chief of the Franc-tireurs and in favor (ftp), and Robert Deloche, resistant of the first hour which will become mayor of Joinville-le-Pont to the Release, pushes Roger Belbéoch to infiltrate the police force.

In 1942, Roger Belbéoch occupies a strategic station with the police station of XIIe district of Paris then to that of Nogent-sur-Marne: employed to the writings, it provides false paper of identity, lodging and attestations of employment. He prevents those which are sought and those which are likely to be searched. Denounced, stopped and tortured, it is released by the Résistance.

Its been engaged, Claudine Kaufmann is stopped on July 16th 1942, at the time of the Rafle of Vél' d' Hiv. Like: 13152 other Jews of Paris and its area, it was off-set in Germany where it died.

Roger Belbéoch is named Juste among the Nations in 1984 by the museum Mémorial of Yad Vashem to Jerusalem (Israel). Its name appears in the alley of Right which borders the Mémorial of Shoah in Paris.

Roger Belbéoch is the son of Joseph Belbéoch, war veteran of 1914 - 1918, fallen to the combat, with the Libération, on August 25th 1944, under the German balls on the bridge of Joinville-le-Pont. The crossroads which marks the entry of the bridge of Joinville, side Right Bank, bears its name.

Roger Belbéoch is elected City council man Joinville-le-Pont in 1977, re-elected at the time of a partial poll in 1978. He is elected first mayor associates Pcf at the sides of Guy Gibout, mayor (Pcf). Roger Belbéoch does not represent himself with the municipal elections of 1983.
