Rodrigue de Villandrando was a famous gang leader of mercenaries to the Moyen-âge, during the Guerre One hundred Year old.

Biography
Originating in Biscay, he is the son of Pedro de Villandrando and Agnes de Corral.
It was called the Emperor of the brigands or the Flayer .
He was count de Ribaldo and of Valladolid.
About 1410, in France, it is allowed in the company of Amaury de Séverac. He becomes captain of the truck drivers, true mercenaries with the pay of seneshals, powerful lords or powerful bishops. At died of its guard in 1427, it puts at the service Charles VII, king de France.
It is joined about 1428 by Jean Salazar which becomes its lieutenant.
June 11th, 1430, it takes part in the battle of Anthon with approximately 400 men armed with vouges, masses, spades on the side from the Dauphine against Louis de Chalon Arlay, prince d' Orange and vassal inhabitant of Franche-Comté of Philippe the Good, duke of Burgundy, which had bound by a secret convention with the duke of Savoy, Amédée VIII, in order to cut up the Dauphiné.
In 1431, it is made count of Ribadeo because of the rendered services with Jean II of Aragon which once invites it per annum to its table. The same year, it is used to fight against a popular revolt and exterminates the taken refuge rebels with Saint-Romain-the-Puy
In September 1432, its truck drivers with the pay of Georges of Trémoille hold the Bridge-of-C and are attacked by Jean de Bueil.
About 1433, it is with the apogee of its power. Its 10000 sanguinary mercenaries (majority of English origins) terrorize and hold to ransom the populations and the lords of the areas which they cross, mainly in the Médoc. He and its flayers ransack and plunder many bastides.
In 1433, with the head of its band, the " Rodrigoys" , it takes by storm the castle of Lagarde Viaur, which it restores after the payment of strong a rançon.
May 24th 1433, it marries Marguerite de Bourbon, half-sister of the duke Charles I {{er}} of Bourbon and illegitimate girl of the duke Jean Ier de Bourbon.
In exchange of a loan of 6000 ecus to his brother-in-law, it acquires the castle of Ussel, then the castle of Châteldon. It settles then with the Château of Montgilbert, of 1434 with 1439.
In 1437, the Fourrier S of the king Charles VII are détroussés with Hérisson by its hommes.
In 1438 the army of the general lieutenant Charles d' Albret followed by the men of Villandrando will attack Bordeaux and plunders the Medoc, but fails against the enclosure of the ville.
In 1443, part of the bands of Rodrigue under the command of Jean Salazar ebb of Spain, devastate High Languedoc and put at plundering Lauragais.
Banished kingdom, it completed its life as marshal of Castille, with the service of Spain, after having bequeathed its goods to the Church of its native land. Taken refuge in a pious life, he dies towards 1457.
