The Rodovia back Bandeirantes (codified SP-348) is a highway of the State de São Paulo Brésil.
Rodovia back Bandeirantes was inaugurated on October 28th, 1978. Its name is a homage to the Bandeirante S which explored the interior of Brazil starting from the littoral of São Paulo.
When the maximum capacity of the traffic of the Rodovia Anhangüera was reached, around 1960, the government of the State decided to construir another road of a greater capacity. Built on a modern project, (it is one of the first roads of Brazil with six traffic lanes) the road connects São Paulo to the Rodovia Washinton Luis making liason between important towns of São Paulo like: Rio Claro, São Carlos, Araraquara and São Jose C Rio Preto. In May 1998, the administration of the road was entrusted to the firm Autoban which prolonged it until Cordeirópolis, on a way of 78 km.
It has a great commercial importance considering with the Rodoanel Mário Covas and the Rodovia back Imigrantes, it is the connection between the two larger poles of import and export of the country: the International airport of Viracopos/Campinas and the port of Santos. It has also a tourist importance because two of principal the parks sets of themes of Brazil is installed on its way: the Hopi-Hari and the Wet' N Wild São Paulo.
Rodovia back Bandeirantes, for much, is the best road of Brazil making the connection between important towns of São Paulo like: São Paulo, Cajamar, Jundiaí, Itupeva, Campinas, Hortolândia, Sumaré, Americana, Santa Bárbara d' Oeste and Limeira.
