Meredith Rodney McKay is a character of the universe of fiction of the Televised series Stargate Atlantis , interpreted by the actor David Hewlett.

Doctor Mckay is a scientist Canadian brilliant although arrogant, timorous and often unbearable. He, by twice, worked with Samantha Carter, on which he phantasm in spite of the repulsion which it tests for him (that it shows by suggesting dishes with the lemon to him to which it is (mortally) allergic). Before belonging to forwarding towards the lost city of Atlantis as a chief of the scientists, he worked in Russia. He is specialist in the Astrophysique and the Theoretical physics, but also the best expert of the Porte of the stars with Carter and a handyman out-par and astute. At the beginning of season 6 of Stargate SG-1, it tried to help the SGC to solve a problem with Anubis. However, when it implemented its project, it essuya one cooking failure.

Side private life, it shares its life with a cat which it leaves with its charming neighbor before leaving on Atlantis and is annoyed with his sister Jeanie Miller (interpreted by Kate Hewlett, true sister of David Hewlett) who being as intelligent as, decided to him to drop her career from scientist to devote itself to her family (his/her Madison daughter, and its Khaleb husband). During its youth, he wanted to make piano but he failed. With CM2, he proposed, for the talk of his class, a model of a nuclear bomb (the members of the club of failure of its college could build some). Government officials questioned it to know if he were a spy.

On Atlantis, it was posted like an essential asset for the survival of the city and the Telamones. Working sometimes with the doctor Radek Zelenka, he discovered the existence of several E2PZ and failed to put the final key at an energy invention revolutionary Lantienne (with final, he rather destroys a planet system in this history). Another moment, it was had by a lieutenant of the army, without consequence with share which it embraced Doctor Beckett… He adores to complain in all circumstances and for anything. He has also much evil to face the danger. However, when the life of one of the members of Atlantis forwarding is in danger, he does not hesitate to put all his courage and to risk at it all until (sometimes) his life.
