“Rodney” Glen King (April 2nd 1965 with Sacramento, California) is American. It is in particular famous as a victim of police violences, which were largely médiatisées in the United States and led to the riots of 1992 in Los Angeles.

The March 3rd 1991 with Los Angeles, it is stopped by police officers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) during a control radar. Rolling to 160 km/h in a state of intoxication, it stops nevertheless its vehicle. The four police officers are discharged the April 29th 1992 by a jury made up of white. Anger bursts among the black population of Los Angeles inter alia, and starts in the city the most important racial riot of the 20th century to the the United States.
Although the media spoke about Rodney King when they referred to him, its true name is Glen King. This error comes owing to the fact that the first police reports like the first news in the media about it mentioned the name of Rodney King, whereas it would have been necessary to say Glen King. Even if its name is not Rodney King, it is however that which the general public will retain.
Two people (“Pooh” Allen and Freddie Helms) who were in the car with Glen King cooperated with the police force and were not beaten. Twenty-four other police officers were present on the scene and did not intervene.
