Rodina

Rodina (Родина), which means Russian Patrie in , is a nationalist political party of the Fédération of Russia chaired by Alexandre Babakov.

History

Rodina was founded in August 2003 by Rogozine, Glaziev, Sergueï Babourine and others like an political organization joining together about thirty nationalist political groups. For some, Glaziev acted in fact on order of the the Kremlin and Vladimir Poutine with an aim of depriving the Communist party of the Federation of Russia of part of its electorate. To that is added the revelations of corruption of the members of the Communist party of the Federation who starts a little more his popularity. With the legislative elections with the Duma of State of 2003, Rodina received 9,2  % of the voices and 37 seats out of 450. The party then supports the major part of the policies of the president Putin.

The congress of the party with refused to introduce a candidate for the presidential election of the March 14th 2004. Glaziev was thus presented to this election as a candidate of a new party, called him also Rodina.

In January 2005, part of the deputies of Rodina claimed the prohibition of “all the religious and Community organizations Jewish”.

In February 2005, four deputies of Rodina among whom his president Dmitri Rogozine put himself in hunger strike and were locked up in their offices of the Duma of State to protest against the reform of the social securities suggested by the government of the Prime Minister Mikhaïl Fradkov. Since this lost showdown, the party adopted a policy of opposition to the government while supporting president Putin. This position is summarized by the slogan “ Za Poutina, Protiv Pravitelstva ” (For Putin, against the government).

In July 2005, Babourine left Rodina with nine other deputies by creating a group at the Duma of State which bears also the name of Rodina. Division between Babourine and Rogozine involved the bringing together between Rogozine and Glaziev.

Dmitri Rogozine showed the Kremlin to carry out a larval war against its party at the time of the years 2005-2006. Rogozine says that plain Russia feels threatened by Rodina. He also announced his intention to bring an legal action against the Duma of State to have authorized the deputies secessionists of Babourine to be recorded like a parliamentary group under the name of Rodina.

The November 6th 2005, Rodina was excluded from the elections for the Duma of the town of Moscow which took place in December following a complaint of the Parti liberal-democrat Russia ( LDPR , extreme-right-hand side). The LDPR judged that the publicity campaign of Rodina encouraged with the racial hate. With its xenophobe countryside, the surveys predicted in Rodina a score of almost 25  % putting it in second position. Rogozine made call of this decision but exclusion was confirmed on February 1st.

August 29th, 2006, Rodina gathered in a new party with the Russian Parti the Life of Sergueï Mironov and the Parti reprocessed the of Igor Zotov. The announced objective of the new party is to link themselves for the legislative elections of 2007 and to be opposed to the party plain Russia. Nevertheless the new party supports the policy of the president Vladimir Poutine.
