Rod Serling (December 25th 1924 with Syracuse - June 28th 1975 with Rochester) is a American Scénariste . He is the creator of the Televised series the Fourth Dimension .
Biography
Its beginnings
Boxing ur amateur in his youth, then parachutist in the American army at the time of the
Second world war, Rod Serling launches out in the writing of scenarios at the end of the military conflict.
In parallel of its studies in literature in Antioch College of Yellow Springs, it gains, in 1949, the second price of a contest organized by the radio program Dr. Christian . After having written many scripts for the Television starting from 1951, it obtains finally a Emmy Award in 1955 for an episode of the series Kraft Television Theater entitled Patterns . It will gain this reward again the following year with an episode of the series Playhouse 90 entitled Requiem for has Heavyweight then with the Téléfilm The Comedian in 1957.

Night Gallery
In 1969, NBC diffuses a pilot project of Serling for a new series:
Night Gallery . Taking seat in a museum, the pilot shows Serling introducing three fantastic stories, using three peintures.
The series really starts to be diffused as from December 1970, because the first season had been delayed. It takes again topics closer to the Roman Gothic and occultism that
the fourth dimension .
Serling wrote approximately a third of the scenarios, but had discharged from the many responsibilities which weighed to him, in order to have a more creative role. From the third season, several of its scenarios are rejected. The series stops in 1973. It was not as popular as
the fourth dimension' , of which it is sometimes regarded as a pale copy.
