Rod Barthet

Rod Barthet is a Chanteur and Guitariste French, born in 1970 with Pontarlier in the Haut-Doubs, in Franche-Comté.

Biography

Rod is 3 years old when it attends its first concert rock'n'roll. At 12 years, he listens to Punk and Hardcore and a buddy lends a Electric guitar to him Japanese. It is locked up in the garage, puts the amplifier at bottom the levers and wastes the first years of the retirement of his grandmother. At 14 years, it creates its first group, Final Blast , a group with tendency hardcore , and shouts its indignation vis-a-vis the middle-class company of consumption.

At 20 years, Rod follows during one year the courses of the CMCN, a music school of Nancy, and decides to become professional. He learns the harmony, the song, the reading and the composition. He spends the whole nights to to type ox with the pals and the first grinding of Rod & The Shotguns founds. It makes its first concerts for the fun, followed by good of others.

In 1991, Rod is 21 years old, the three Shotguns of the moment fly away towards San Francisco (where Rod has a friend who can place them) and discover Tommy Castro, Johnny Nitro, Harvey Mandel ( Canned Heat ), Ron Thompson and Jim Guyett (bass player of John Lee Hooker). They Jam lies with all these new friends and make circulate in the city a demonstration of the group which arrives to John Lee Hooker itself which invites them to propose to them to form its first part (that they completely foirent because of the pressure). But Rod, invited in the house of the Master, could, dazzled, to discuss two hours with Mr. Boom Boom . Rod remains three months in San Francisco and finds some engagements local with the Paradise Lounge , the Pit (seven spectators, but a good memory), and in clubs of Redwood City, in suburbs of San Francisco. It also goes jammer with local glories to the Saloon and the Grant & Green .

In 1995, it goes back with the group to San Francisco to record in the studio Alpha & Omega the Compact disk “Rod & The Shotgun' S " Mr. Alligator" ” (50% French/50% English) distributed by MSI. Meanwhile it opens for Roy Rogers, Joe Louis Walker, Jimmy Johnson, Bo Diddley, Wilson Picket, Alvin Lee and Mick Taylor!

1998, Rod is 28 years old and prepares its 2nd album, “Rod & The Shotgun' S " To change the horizon" ” 100% sung in French, the album finds a reception favorable near the public and of the media.

2000, Rod crosses the way of Boris Bergman with which it will compose 8 songs of his album “Rod " At the end of my ligne" ”. The album has a tone plus rock'n'roll and more sharp-edged.

2002 Participation in 18th Meet of Astaffort , organized by voice of the south, whose Francis Cabrel is the president. He spends 10 days to think music, eat music, dream music all that in very an good atmosphere.

2003 Rod made a round in concerts to the Mexico which was very appreciated. Rod decides to play under its own name. 1st CD “Rod Barthet " Balconnet de France" ” in the style " New scene française". Rod also gave courses of guitar to the main actor Michel Subor for the film " The intrus" , realized by Claire Denis with Beatrice Dalle, Bambou and Katia Golubeva.

2004 Concerts in Slovakia within the framework of the festival of the music. A concert was diffused on the SPOKE (Italy), RSR (Suisse) like on France Blue Drome Ardèche - Burgundy Franche-Comté - Savoy Haute-Savoie.

In 2006, new CD “Rod Barthet " I you promets" ” 2nd CD under its own name. In this new album, Rod finds its plenitude, that gives true songs, That feels maturity and the style Rod BARTHET.
