Rocuronium

The rocuronium is a curare not-depolarizer of the family of the amino Stéroïde S, marketed in the form of bromide of rocuronium (Esméron ®, Zémuron ®). It is usually used like Myorelaxant in General anesthesia and among patients of Réanimation.

A characteristic of rocuronium is its short time of action (90 seconds), shortest of all the curares not-depolarizers, which makes of it an alternative a priori interesting to the Suxaméthonium for the intubation of the patients with full stomach.

As the other curares not-depolarizers the rocuronium is antagonisable by the Néostigmine. The Sugammadex would be another promising antidote.
