Rockbox

Rockbox is a free Micrologiciel for walkmen. The Rockbox project started in 2002 and was established initially on the walkman Archos Studio following dissatisfactions with users towards serious limitations in the delivered interface and with the operations allowed with the system.

Rockbox can replace the microsoftware of the host completely and reached maturity while becoming an extensible platform and flexible device which provides a architecture with Plugin S making it possible to add functionalities worthy of a PDA, applications, utilities, plays. It also made it possible retro-to establish the reading of vidéos in walkmans left in the middle of the year 2000.
