Rock-of-Condrieu

Rock-with-Condrieu is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps. Its inhabitants are called Rochelois.

Geography

History

The history of this commune created in 1792, is entirely related to the river (the Rhone) since it was built on the initiative of the marines of the time, on advanced rocks of Rhône.Ces the last appeared frightening to them at the time of their passage even if later they proved to be true ramparts against the floods. It is with force, courage and generosity which the boatmen forged gradually this harbor village. Perseverance and belief in the richnesses of the river, mythological place and organics powerful, were necessary to the pioneers of the " Rocher" to build a prosperous city and an haven of peace.
