Robin Knox-Johnston
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston CBE is a navigator English born the March 17th 1939 in Putney in England. Widower, it has a girl, Sarah, born in Bombay in 1963.
He engages in the Navy then the Merchant navy in 1957, and built in 1963 - 1964 a Ketch bermudien of 32 feet in Teck with the building site Colaba Workshop Ltd of Bombay with comrades with which he repurchases their shares. It will be Suhaili (name of a wind of South-east in the Persian Gulf) with which it gains the Golden Globe Challenge in 1968 in 313 days, after the abandonment of Bernard Moitessier.
Of 1992 with 2001 he was President of Sail Training Association.
