Roberta Bondar
Roberta Bondar , O.C (December 4th 1945 with Sault-Holy-Marie, Ontario -) is the first Canadian woman in space.
Biography
Roberta Bondar obtains a science baccalaureat with the Université of Guelph in 1968, a control in experimental Pathologie of the Université Western Ontario in 1971, Ph.D. in Plastic surgeon with the Université of Toronto in 1971 and a MANDELEVIUM with the Université McMaster. in 1977.
Flight carried out
It begins its drive to become astronaut in 1984, and in 1990 it is selected to be Spécialiste payload in the first international mission in the laboratory of Microgravité (IML-1). It steals on the shuttle Discovery of NASA at the time of mission STS-42 of the 22 to the January 30th 1992, during which it carried out experiments in the space laboratory.The docteure Bondar left the Canadian Space agency in 1992 to continue its research. It is currently the president of the Université the Trent.
In 1992, it is decorated officière about Canada. In 1998, it is introduced with the Temple of the Canadian medical fame. It was also allowed with the Ordre of Ontario.
