Biography
Of origin angevine, it is anobli in March 1401, and becomes six years later to advise Louis II, duke of Anjou and king de Sicile. Partisan of the House of Orleans, it is named chancellor of Isabeau of Bavaria the January 29th 1414, then the July 20th 1414 police chief, and in June 1416 chancellor of the count de Ponthieu, near Charles VII of France. The August 16th 1416 it buys the baronnie Trier in Anjou, and carries thereafter the title of lord of Trier. When Paris is surprised by the Bourguignons in the night of the May 29th 1418, it helps Tanguy of Chastel to save the Dauphin Charles. Its devotion to the cause of this last attracts on him the ire of Jean Without-Fear, duke of Burgundy, and it is excluded from the political amnesty of the treated of Saint-Maur the September 16th 1418. It however preserves its seat at the council of the king. It is at the sides of the Dolphin when Jean Without-Fear is assassinated with the bridge of Montereau the September 10th 1419, but it does not take part in any way in the assassination of the duke. He resigns at the beginning of 1422; but it continues to exert a great influence, and in 1426 it reconciles the king and Jean V, duke of Brittany. It is made prisoner by Jean de Langeac, seneshal of Auvergne, in August 1426, and is locked up for three months in the castle of Usson. When it is given in freedom, it supports with firmness Jeanne d' Arc against all the cabals which threaten it. It is him which signs the patent of nobility for the family of Arc in December 1429. One entrusts also an embassy to him in Brittany in 1430. Being withdrawn of the political life in 1436, he died on January 28th 1443, and was buried with Trier where its epitaph can still be seen.He died without children of Jeanne Cochon and Jeanne de Mortemer de Coué, whose for the “ place Prévosterie ” in Ahuillé its nephews, Elie d' Allé and Pierre Hocquedé inherited, 1444, 1460
