Robert de Fiennes , known as Moreau , the 28e Constable of France, was born towards 1308 with the castle from the same name, in Bolted, dead towards 1385.
Biography
August 1st After the disaster of Poitiers, where perishes the constable Gautier VI of Brienne (1356), Robert de Fiennes accepted the dignity of Connétable of France as rewards for the services which it had already rendered in the Guerre One hundred Year old.He assisted the Dauphin (the future Charles V) in his efforts against the English, took again Auxerre in 1360, and drove out the Grandes companies of truck drivers of Pont-Saint-Esprit, of Frontignan, Charity (1361 - 1365).
After the signature of the Traité of Brétigny, which yielded to the English the territory where its Baronnie of Fiennes was, he refused the homage to the foreign king and supported a seat in his castle against: 25000 men (1369). It dislocated in 1370 dignity of constable, and made it submit with Bertrand Of Guesclin.
