Robert Sheckley

Robert Sheckley is an author of Science-fiction American, born the July 16th 1928, dead the December 9th 2005 with Poughkeepsie (NY). Very regular collaborator of the review Galaxy in the Years 1950, it wrote more than one hundred of news and ten novels.

Its pseudonyms: Philips Barbee - Ned Lang - End O' Donnevan.

Among its news, one of most known is the Seventh Victim ( The Seventh Victim , 1953) which was adapted to the cinema by Elio $petri under the title the Tenth Victim ( Decimated It Vittima ). In his turn, Robert Sheckley drew a novel from film, also entitled The Tenth Victim .

The screen of this history is simple: in a future so remote step, people divert themselves of a television game putting in scene a driven out hunter and one.

Robert Sheckley drew several books from them ( Arena ) and a news, the Price of the Danger ( The Prize off Danger ), which was adapted to the cinema by Yves Boisset, under the same title with Gerard Lanvin.

He also wrote novels and news in collaboration with several authors like Roger Zelazny.

The news of Sheckley is often very funny, and brings into play characters struggling to survive absurd situations. One often finds there the characters of Arnold and Gregor, two associated loans, to gain some under, to accept apparently simple missions, but which prove to be true operations commits suicide.

One of its novels, Options , is written in a style very close to that of Boris Vian
