Robert Robin is a Horloger French born in 1742 and died in 1799. He was the clock and watch maker of King Louis XVI.

He is the inventor of a mixed exhaust anchor-relaxation in 1793. This exhaust combined the advantages of the exhaust with relaxation (with high outputs) with those of the lever escapement (with a better operational safety). It was one of the first to use in France the lever escapement for the watches. We owe him of many regulators of very great quality.

It manufactured the clock of Marie-Antoinette in 1785. This clock was confiscated with the French revolution and is currently exposed in the Grande gallery of the evolution to the national Muséum of natural history of Paris.
