Robert Poujade

Robert Poujade should not be confused with Pierre Poujade.

Robert Poujade , academic, born the May 6th 1928 with Mills (To combine), is a Politician French.

Biography

Wire of a qualified schoolteacher of philosophy, it does itself of the higher learning which lead it to the National university and with the aggregation of traditional Lettres. It begins its career from teacher in 1954 as professor of Lettres higher than the Lycée of Dijon.

It engages as of the 18 years age within the movement gaullist and militates successively with RPF, at the Social republicans, with UNR, UDR and the RPR. National secretary of the students of the RPF, it organizes then the federation of the Coast-with Or of the Social republicans, then it is named in 1958 general secretary of the departmental federation of the UNR. In 1960, it enters to the central committee of the UNR, and the office in 1961. It becomes one of the national secretaries of the party gaullist in 1967, before being appointed general secretary of l´UDR (1968-71), then member of the political office of RPR in 1984.

After a short passage (January-February 1963) like adviser technical with the cabinet of Jacques Maziol, Minister for the construction of the government of Georges Pompidou, it is named member of the Economic and Social Council, in which it sits as “a personality described” as September 1964 at April 1967. He is also Member of the Commission of regional economic development (TO CODE) Burgundy of 1965 with 1973.

In 1962, it in vain tries to be made elect appointed vis-a-vis the outgoing one, the Chanoine Kir (CNI). But it takes its revenge on this last at the time of the general elections of 1967. The same year, he is elected at the general advice of Coast-in Or and the municipal council of Dijon.

President of the High committee of l´environnement, it is named in January 1971 deputy secretary near the Prime Minister, responsible for protection of nature and the environment, in the governments Chaban-Delmas (January 1971 - July 1972) and Messmer (July 1972 - March 1973), then Minister for protection of nature and the environment (Gouvernement Messmer, April 1973 - February 1974).

Creator of the Department of the Environment in France, it ensured thereafter of the functions in bond with this concern. He was thus president of the Conservatoire of the littoral (1976), president of the National Commission of the Safeguarded Secteurs (1978), president of the Association of the Villes and Pays of Art and History, vice-president of the French section of the International counsel of the monuments and the sites (Icomos) (1978).

He in addition was president of the council d administration of the National library (1978), and vice-president of l Association of the mayors of France (1983).

He was named general inspector of the state education in 1974.

He is regarded as a “gaullist of left”.

    • Candidat with the municipal elections of Dijon in 1959 and 1965 under the banner UNR, it is in 1968 that he is elected at the time of bys-election. The list gaullist which it leads in 1971 is elected with the first turn with 50,78% of the voices. He is re-elected with the first turn in 1977 (52%), in 1983 (68,31%), in 1989 (58,80%). In 1995, constrained with the ballotage by divisions on the right, it is re-elected with the second turn. It does not represent in 2001.

    • Élu appointed for the first time in 1967, with 56,70% of the voices, Robert Poujade takes his revenge on Felix Kir which had beaten it in 1962. He is re-elected in 1968 with 50,70% of the voices to the first turn, then in 1973 with 53,36% with the second turn, and in 1978 with 53,30%. Of 1971 with 1974, being named with the government, it leaves its seat to its substitute Rene Blas. This last refuses to yield the place in 1974 to him. Robert Poujade is re-elected in 1978. In 1981, it is beaten on the wire (49,15% of the voices) by Roland Carraz at the time of the vague consecutive pink to the election of François Mitterrand with the presidency of the Republic. It finds its seat in 1986 at the time of the legislative proportional ones, its list obtaining 52,95% of the voices in front of that of the PS (33,04%). He is re-elected with the first turn in 1988 in the 1st district of Coast-in Or with 51,95% of the voices, then in 1993 with 50,72% of the voices. In 1997, it carries it with the second turn with 53,64% of the voices. It does not represent in 2002.
