Family
It was born with Edmundston, N.B., on August 7th, 1936. He is the son of Albert Pichette, judge of the Supreme court of New Brunswick and Liliane Lévesque.He married on August 12th, 1967 with Fredericton, NR. - B. with Patricia Roberts.
They have two children, Marc and Luc Pichette.
Career
Mr. Pichette makes his studies with Montreal, That., and with the Collège Saint-Louis of Edmundston. After having been useful during three years in Canadian aviation and to have made a training course of research in history of Canada as stock-broker of the Council of arts, it makes a few years of journalism of radio and television initially at the stations CBAF and CBAFT, with the newspaper the Évangéline, then at the station CKCH, Hull, That., and Ottawa, Has. During the decade of the years 1960, he works for the government of New Brunswick as chief of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Louis J. Robichaud and as delegated to the cultural Affairs of the province. By after, Mr Pichette works for the office of the Police chief to the official languages with Moncton, N.B and for the Agency of economic promotion of Atlantic Canada with Sydney. and Moncton, N.B. It takes its retirement in 1991. During the Expo 67, Robert Pichette is member of the Canadian delegation for the renewal of the cultural agreement France-Canada and member of the Standing Committee of the civils servant for the revision of the Canadian Constitution. He plays an active role within the boards of directors of several artistic institutions, in particular the North American Assembly off State and Provincial Arts Agencies, the Festival of dramatic art of Canada, the Conseil of popular arts of Canada, the Fredericton Playhouse and the French Cercle of Fredericton, N.B.
Titles
December 5th, 1971, Robert Pichette is the first Acadian one since the commander Isaac de Razilly and the knight Hector Andigné de Grandfontaine with being allowed in the Ordre of Malta. Mr. Pichette is author of several articles and books on the regional history of New Brunswick and Quebec. Authority recognized into heraldic, it is regarded as the innovator of the current flag of New Brunswick. It holds the official title since 1995 of Dauphin Herald Extraordinary.
