Robert Mallet-Stevens
Robert Mallet-Stevens is a Architecte and designer French born with Paris the March 24th 1886, died in Paris the February 8th 1945.
Graduate of the special School of architecture (Paris) in 1910.
Initially creative of pieces of furniture and film sets during a score of years, he was manufacturer only rather tardily and almost exclusively for private customers, his single public order having been the realization of a fire station in Paris.
He was one of the founders in 1929 of the Union of the modern Artists (UAM) which gathered in particular Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé and which had as a spearhead, industrialization, the modernism and the access to the greatest number of Article What in an effective way will not take place.
During the occupation, it took refuge with its family in the south-west of France with Warp end-in Agenais (Lot-et-Garonne) to protect his wife who was Jewish.
