Robert Louis
Robert Louis (1902 with Douai - 1965 with Vincennes) was a specialist in Héraldique and artist French heraldist.
Of 1943 with 1965, it draws the near total of the stamps series of Blason S of the French provinces and towns of France. In 1966, his/her daughter Mireille replaces it for the drawing of the last three stamps (blazons of Auch, Mount-with-Marsan and Saint-Lo). Its talent is also used on the stamps of the French post offices operating abroad, in Andorre and in the French Zone in West Germany.
Apart from these representations of traditional blazons, it also created of all parts a certain number of blazons for the French departments, starting from scattered elements of the heraldic history of the provinces, but also of elements related to the geography. It also created, in the same way, some blazons for common Frenchwomen.
It is also with him that one would owe the resumption of the composition of Jules-Clement Chaplain for the semi-official armorial bearings of the French Republic.
