Biography
He becomes count d' Auvergne after his father, towards 1016. He is named this year there for a subscription for the foundation of the church of St-Genoa. Its piety did not prevent it from adapting the goods of the church of Aydat, which it was obliged to restore in 1022.Husband of Ermengarde of Arles, girl of Guillaume Ier of White Provence and of Anjou, he is the father of Guillaume V.
