Robert Ier d\' Artois
Robert Ier d' Artois , born in 1216, died in Mansourah in 1250, is count d' Artois (1237-1250), wire of Louis VIII and Blanche of Castille and brother of Saint Louis.
In accordance with the will of his father, it accepted in 1237 the Comté of Artois. In 1240, it refused to claim with the empire, as the pope Gregoire IX wished it.
It took share with the Seventh crusade of Saint Louis and found death in a ill-considered attack against Mansourah in 1250.
Married to Mathilde (or Mahaut), girl of Henri II, duke of the Brabant, and Marie de Hohenstaufen, it had:
- White (1248 † 1302), married with the king Henri Ier de Navarre then with Edmund of Lancaster, a prince English junior.
