Robert II of Scotland

Robert II Stuart (March 2nd 1316 - April 19th 1390) was King of Scotland of 1371 to its death, with Dundonald in 1390. He is the nephew and successor of David II of Scotland.

He is the son of Gauthier Stewart (1292+1326) and of Marjorie Bruce Princesse royal of shells (+1316). Small son by his mother of the King d' Écosse Robert Bruce (+1329).

He was Co-regent of the kingdom of Scotland of July 1333 with 1334 then only regent until in 1341 during the minority of his nephew then a news during his captivity in England of October 1346 with 1357.

He marries in first weddings: 1347 Elisabeth Muir de Rowallan, girl Sir Adam Muir de Rowallan. of which:

  • Marjorie marries John Dunbar count of Moray, then Alexandre Keith
  • Isabelle (+1410) wife James Count Douglas then 1389 David Edmenstone

He marries in second weddings: 1355 Euphémie of Ross (+1387) girl Hugues Count of Ross. of which:

  • David count de Strathearn born towards 1356 (+ 1489)
  • Walter Stuart Count de Caithness born towards 1360 decapitated in Edinburgh in 1437
  • Elisabeth Catherine marries 1380 David Linsay Count de Crawford
  • Egidia, wife 1387 William Douglas
