Robert III of Auvergne
Robert III , count d' Auvergne about 1136, known for its different with the church from Brioude, is regulated by a treaty passed with the archbishops of Bourges and Lyon. It accompanied Louis VII with the Second crusade (quoted by Odon de Deuil, Histoire of the crusade of Louis VII ), to perhaps repurchase its wrongs towards the Church. It died there towards 1147.
Accompanied by his/her Guillaume son (known as the Young person ), who was to inherit the county (future Guillaume VII), it had left the guard of its goods to his/her brother, Guillaume (known as Old the ). This one did not await the return of its nephew to seize the capacity, indicated by the historians under the name of Guillaume VIII, count d' Auvergne.
Robert III is the son of Guillaume VI. The name of his wife is not known, as opposed to what claim Justel and Chorier, which allot to him Marquise of Albon. Baluze proved, ( Cartulaire de Chalais , donations of the count de Vienne, 1223), that Marquise of Albon was the woman of Guillaume VII, and the mother of Dolphin, origin of the line of the dolphins of Auvergne.
