Robert Escarpit

Robert Escarpit , born with Saint-Macaire (the Gironde) the April 24th 1918 and dead the November 19th 2000 with Langon (the Gironde), is an academic, writer and journalist French.

Academic

He passes all his childhood and his adolescence in the Gironde. At eighteen years, it should continue studies. It makes of English, by need more than by interest. Journalist, professor and Sociologist

After the war, he is general secretary, then directing of the French Institut of Latin America with Mexico City. He will be English assistant, then professor of comparative literature with the Faculty of Arts of Bordeaux (1951 - 1970) and creator of the Center of sociology of the literary facts in 1960 (become then Institut of literature and artistic techniques of mass: ILTAM).
