Robert Devereux
Robert Devereux (November 10th 1566 - February 25th 1601), 2nd Count d' Essex, was a Favori of Elisabeth I {{Re}} of England.
Biography
It fought with the French huguenots (1591-92) and was illustrated in the forwarding of Cadiz (1596). Beaten by O' Neil in Ulster (1598). March 27th, 1599, it leaves for Ireland in quality généralissime and has an interview with the Irish enemy Tyrone on September 6th, 1599 with the ford of Bellaclinthe. It turns over to England the 28- September 29th, 1599 and is stopped. He was disgraced (1600) and was judged on June 5th, fomented a plot then on February 8th, 1601 and was decapitated with the axe on February 25th, 1601 (the torturer had to begin again himself there with three times to separate the head from the body).
