Robert Caze
Robert Caze (1853-1886) is a writer, poet and novelist naturalist, born in Toulouse (or Paris according to Rodolphe Darzens) in 1853, died with Paris in 1886 at the time of a Duel against Charles Vignier.
Friend of the Frères Goncourt, of Huysmans, Verlaine, it could have appeared, if death had not mown it at 33 years, among the best writers of its generation and being the equal one of Maupassant. Supposed marquis de Berzieux - and middle-class man of Epiquerez in Switzerland - Robert Caze had broken with his, except for his mother.
