Robert Barberis
Robert Barberis (September 24th 1938 with Montreal with the Quebec (Canada) -) is a Professor of Littérature French and Québécois and a writer Indépendantiste Québécois.
Biography
It was born close to the Parc Lafontaine. After its 12th year with the Plate, it made its traditional course with Latin but without Greek in four years and obtained its Vat in 1960. He undertook then studies in Théologie with the Grand seminar of Montreal, obtained a License in theology in 1964, then a Maîtrise in letters of the Université of Montreal in 1972 and, finally, in 1987, to the Université Laval of Quebec, a Doctorat in letters.
Of origin Italy, it became independence following the courses of history of Maurice Séguin, of the meeting of Gaston Miron and the most qualified sound exégète, Jacques Brault, of the reading of Option Quebec of Rene Lévesque, its experiment as professor in Loyola Collège (become Concordia University) and of the influence of the political commitment of the family members of his wife (Viger family) of which one of the members, Michel, hid four felquists during the Crise of October in 1970 and was condemned to eight years of prison by the Juge Antonio Lamer which was then named with the Supreme court of Canada. He worked actively with the establishment of the Mouvement Sovereignty-Association on the Bank-South. He was member of the national committee of the program of the Parti Québécois and secretary with the drafting the Editions of the Québécois Party which published, inter alia, the political autobiography of Dr. Camille Laurin, the father of the Loi 101. the Duty and the Press published about thirty its free opinions.
Robert Barberis is married in Marcelle Viger of the Old man-Longueuil and father of four children, two boys and two girls.
After two years in Loyola College, he taught the French and Québécois literature during 36 years with the Cégep de Sorel-Tracy. He took his retirement as teacher in June 2007.
He was collaborator with various reviews (Maintenant, the National action) and with the newspaper the Day. He published five books.
