Biography

Robert Alan Krieger is born with Los Angeles in the state from the California.

He in the same way learns the Guitare by granting a Ukulélé that the 4 low cords from a guitar and while playing of the Flamenco. In 1963 it buys a Flamenco guitar and control this style without the benefit of lesson. It is tired of this type of music and assistance to create a group, the Back Bay Chamberpot Terriers .

It forms The Doors with the clavierist Ray Manzarek, the beater John Densmore and the singer Jim Morrison in 1965.

It does not adopt rough the rock'n'roll attitude of groups like The Who however contemporary of Doors. This attitude counterbalances well that of Jim Morrison outrageous and extravertie. It uses a set of arpeggios complexes and a piece as The End proves rather well the richness of the play to us. Because following the example largest jazzmen, Krieger places its piece, in the moment, the expression of the expensive feelings at that time psychedelic. Krieger plays the arpeggios with long nails getting a its precis and sharp.

Robbie plays on a Gibson SG red Bordeaux wine with two P-90. It keeps this guitar all its career. After the death of Morrison in 1971, The Doors continues in trio and produces two albums Other Voices and Full Circle where Krieger shares the song with Manzarek. The Doors separates in 1973, Krieger forms The Butts Band with Densmore. Its technique of the guitar is sufficient so that it meets some successes as guitarist of Jazz, recording several albums with the Robbie Krieger Band in the Années 1980 and 1990 such as Versions (1983) and No Habla (1986).

He plays also some tracks with the Blue Öyster Cult then reforms Doors in 2002 with Manzarek and the singer Ian Astbury, under the name of The Doors off the 21st Century, then Riders One The Storm.
