Roatán
Roatán , is an island of the Honduras, in the Caribbean Sea. It constitutes largest of the islands of the Département of Islas of Bahía, and is approximately 60 kilometers long for less than 8 kilometers broad in its greater width.
Its capital is Coxen Hole, in the south-west of the island.
Occupied as of 1742 by the English, this island was declared in 1856 free under the sovereignty of the Republic of Honduras.
